On the final day, Ibiza will experience its first total solar eclipse since 1905. Totality will occur shortly before sunset and, for almost a minute, the light over the west coast will change completely.
Before then, you will have five days to discover beaches, villages, landscapes and part of our island’s history. Enough time to experience the real Ibiza, rather than simply waiting for the main event.
The route covers the south, east, north and west of the island. Each day combines time by the sea with a nearby visit and a dining recommendation that our team knows and genuinely enjoys. A Five-Day Route to Discover and Enjoy Ibiza
Day 1 — Saturday, 8 August: Arrival, Ses Salines and Sant Ciriac
The first day can begin at a relaxed pace. After arriving and transferring to your accommodation, the route heads towards Ses Salines.
It is one of Ibiza’s best-known beaches, but it is also part of a protected natural park. Behind the coastline lie the salt ponds that have shaped the island’s history and economy for centuries.
A few hours by the sea and a walk through the surrounding area are enough to ease into the rhythm of Ibiza without making the first day too busy.
The 8th of August also marks the celebration of Sant Ciriac, the patron saint of Eivissa. That afternoon, sa Berenada takes place at Puig des Molins. Families and groups of friends gather to share bread, Spanish omelette and watermelon, as generations have done before them.
It is a simple tradition and one that feels distinctly our own. A special way to begin your trip and connect with local life from the very first day.
Day 2 — Sunday, 9 August: Cala Llonga and Santa Eulària
The second day begins in Cala Llonga. Its beach lies within a wide bay surrounded by pine trees and gentle hills, making it an ideal place to enjoy the morning by the sea.
From there, the route continues to Santa Eulària. It is worth walking up to Puig de Missa, the fortified church overlooking the town from above. From this point, you can take in views of the valley, the sea and the area’s whitewashed rooftops.
You can also explore part of the river route, from Can Planetes to Pont Vell and the centre of Santa Eulària. The walk offers an insight into the importance that water, mills, irrigation channels and orchards once held for the municipality.
For dinner, Es Terral is one of those places our team recommends with particular affection. Chef Matthieu Savariaud combines French technique with local produce and the rhythms of Ibiza. Located on a small street in the centre of Santa Eulària, the restaurant offers a warm, peaceful and highly personal dining experience.
Day 3 — Monday, 10 August: Port de Sant Miquel and Northern Ibiza
The third day begins at Port de Sant Miquel. Its beach lies within a sheltered bay in the north of the island and is a lovely place to spend the morning by the sea.
Just a few minutes away is Cova de Can Marçà, a cave approximately 100,000 years old located within the cliffside. The visit offers a different perspective on the landscape and the natural formation of this part of Ibiza.
The route can then continue through Sant Miquel, Sant Joan and Sant Llorenç. Along the way, the landscape changes, revealing pine forests, farmland, traditional Ibizan houses and some of the island’s most peaceful villages.
Depending on traffic conditions, your chauffeur can adapt the itinerary and take alternative routes. This allows you to make the most of the day without losing time on the busiest access roads.
For dinner, Camí de Balàfia, in Sant Llorenç, preserves the essence of a traditional family-run Ibizan farmhouse. Its charcoal-grilled dishes, homemade chips and locally grown tomato salad form part of a simple menu deeply connected to the island’s culinary heritage.
It is one of those places our team is always happy to return to. It needs no unnecessary embellishment. Its quality lies in the produce, the fire and the hospitality.
Day 4 — Tuesday, 11 August: Cala Bassa, Dalt Vila and Sa Nansa
The morning begins at Cala Bassa. Its crystal-clear waters and the juniper woodland surrounding the beach invite you to stay for several hours without the need to add too many other plans.
After lunch, you can return to your accommodation and rest before continuing towards Eivissa.
In the late afternoon, your chauffeur can drop you close to Portal de ses Taules, the main entrance to Dalt Vila. From there, you can walk through the streets of the fortified old town, explore its bastions and squares, and enjoy views over the harbour.
The afternoon light transforms the façades and city walls. It is an ideal time to discover this part of the city without the more intense midday temperatures.
For dinner, Sa Nansa keeps Ibiza’s traditional seafaring cuisine alive near the harbour. Pere Tur has spent years at the helm of a restaurant where dishes such as guisat de peix and borrida de ratjada retain their authentic, time-honoured flavour.

Day 5 — Wednesday, 12 August: Sa Caleta and the Total Eclipse
The final day calls for fewer stops and more time.
The morning can begin early at Sa Caleta, also known as Es Bol Nou. The cove is sheltered by reddish cliffs and retains a number of old fishermen’s huts.
Nearby lies the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta, one of the sites included in Ibiza’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The remains offer an insight into the origins of Phoenician settlement on the island and its close relationship with the Mediterranean.
For lunch, Restaurante Sa Caleta completes the experience with seafood and traditional island dishes. Its bullit de peix is one of the best known in Ibiza and a wonderful way to round off the morning before returning to your accommodation.
After lunch, it is advisable to rest. The afternoon will be entirely devoted to the eclipse.
The phenomenon will begin shortly before 7.40 pm, with totality occurring at around 8.33 pm, very close to sunset. Several viewing points and designated areas will be available that day. Many restaurants, beach clubs and hotels will also be preparing special dinners and experiences.
The important thing is to choose your plans in advance and make a reservation. Once the location has been decided, your chauffeur will be able to organise your collection with sufficient time and take you there punctually and comfortably.
This is not an afternoon on which to leave transport arrangements until the last minute. Many people will be travelling towards the west of the island at a very specific time and returning almost simultaneously after the eclipse.
